Framework Success Continues in Cheshire East

January 18th 2017

Manchester & Cheshire has been re-appointed to a construction services framework for Cheshire East Council.

The company was first appointed to the framework in 2011 and the latest phase will run for up to four years.

It is valued at around £13.5m and will cover projects of up to £800,000.

The framework will include new builds, extensions, refurbishments and heritage works across Cheshire East, which is the third largest unitary authority in the north west after Manchester and Liverpool city councils.

Towns in the Cheshire East area include Crewe, Congleton, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Sandbach, Middlewich and Nantwich.

The framework will cover schemes and works at schools, libraries, leisure centres, community buildings, social services and health buildings, depots, offices, parks, farm buildings and National Trust estates.

Since being appointed in 2011, Manchester & Cheshire has undertaken schemes at schools including Offley Primary in Sandbach and Daven Primary in Congleton.

The firm has also completed projects at Tatton Park and at the Crewe Municipal Buildings, which contain the council chamber, the Mayor’s reception room, committee rooms and staff offices.

Manchester & Cheshire director Chris Purcell said:

'We are delighted to be reappointed to this framework. It is always pleasing to retain a key customer. We have worked hard to be an excellent partner to Cheshire East Council.'

'Frameworks such as this are hugely important to our company. They reward best value rather than just price, while the continuity of work provides us with the confidence to carry on investing in our business.'

'Manchester & Cheshire has places on several other frameworks, including ones for the University of Manchester, Salford City Council and Royal Mail.'
