LABC North West Excellence Awards

labc award presentation

April 29th 2013

Salford-based building firm Manchester and Cheshire Construction are celebrating a win at the LABC North West Excellence Awards held at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton.

Along with their clients Frederic Robinson Brewery and architects John Dixon Associates the company picked up the Best Small Commercial Building award for the refurbishment of the Red Lion Public House in Pickmere, Cheshire.

The award recognises Building Excellence in the delivery of outstanding construction and workmanship and was well deserved as Contracts Director Ian Lowe explains,

'The project was difficult due to the condition of the existing building and the team worked hard to overcome a number of issues and produce an outstanding result. It's great for the entire team to receive the award from an independent panel of experts as recognition of their achievement.'

LABC Chief Executive Paul Everall said “Our regional building excellence awards are an opportunity to celebrate good practice. All our winners demonstrated how attention to detail and a positive working relationship with Building Control departments can achieve high quality and sustainable buildings fit for the future. Our awards are unique because they recognise how the work of local authority surveyors helps to improve building standards and boost sustainability and efficiency.

'The refurbishment of the Red Lion has breathed new life into a forgotten shell - now it is a hub for the whole community. The attention to detail and quality of construction provides an environment for all to enjoy.'
