Manchester and Cheshire Construction have won a prestigious award for health and safety from Construction
Safety Services North West. The Telford Award was presented to the company at CSSNW’s annual award ceremony in recognition of their health and safety performance throughout 2011.
CSSNW audit each of their member’s construction sites on a monthly basis and award a risk rating based on a range of categories. The company with the lowest average risk rating at the end of the year receives the Telford Award. The award reflects the high levels of health and safety the company achieves on its sites as Construction Director Eugene O’ Callaghan explains;
'Whilst everyone in the company is responsible for health and safety, this award focuses directly on our performance on site so it's our Site Supervisors and direct labour force who deserve a special mention for this achievement. The fact that it’s based on independent inspections of all of our construction sites makes it all the more rewarding.'
