A new BBC3 programme tackling youth unemployment features our own Managing Director David Lowe who provides tips and tricks on the best ways to find work.

'Up for Hire' features a range of industry experts who gave up their time for free to help the BBC address one of Britain’s biggest issues as Mr Lowe explains;

'Youth unemployment is heading towards 1 million and whilst companies such as ourselves have a duty to provide employment through work experience or apprenticeship schemes, the youngsters themselves also have a duty to present themselves in the best possible light and perhaps go the extra mile when it comes to finding work. Hopefully these programmes will help illustrate what is required.'

Going the extra mile is something Mr. Lowe has seen first-hand at Manchester and Cheshire Construction;

'We've recently taken on a 18 year old admin assistant through Start Training of Salford. The young lady is from Wigan and has to get up at 5.30am each morning to catch her train and travels over 1 hour in each direction. This dedication also manifests itself in her work and I’m confident she’s going to go onto great things.'
